Ford Focus RS
This amazing car is a rare find as there are only 100 in all of Mexico in 2010. The owner is adamant it is the best maintained example, and I wouldn't argue with that since it has ONLY 3,666 Miles. Engine is a 2.5L 5 Cylinder Turbo mated to a 6 speed manual. Its always been garaged, always with a cover, with radio plastic stickers still on and the guy is the owner of a Ford dealership. In fact, he says if you can find one in better condition he will give his to you. These type of rare finds are supremely cool, and I hope it gets to a good owner.
Price: $28,000 Dollars.

Pete K has the ONLY one in the US legally. He had the requisite permits to title it in Mexico so he could drive it across the border. They covered his purchase and importation a few years ago.

Seems okay taking into account of it's rarity in North America.
The cheapest I've found in the U.K. (on Autotrader at least for which there are 9 for sale) is £24,995 (USD$40,000) for a 2010 with 13,000 miles.
Up to £45,000 (USD$72,400) for a 2011 with ONLY 750 miles on the clock .

Its WAY more expensive. And for some reason, my father thinks all used cars are going to explode.

Yes, but the mk2 Focus was never available in the US. It's closer to the Volvo C30 than anything Ford ever offered in the US.

You could always try getting a Florida title...but then you'd have to keep the car within Florida. So maybe not.

Some do. The Mk 1 Focus RS is still quite expensive as per here .
In trivia news, Ford is alleged to have lost £4,000 on each Mk 1 because of the complicated production process.

I don't know how imports are handled in the US, but when I imported a car (from Germany to the Netherlands) I had to bring the car in for an inspection.

....until it's 25 years old. You could bring in a Mk 1 from 2027.

Nope, 25 year rule still applies. They're not dumb about it though. It's pretty damn hard to trick them without a VIN swap, and that's a felony.....

No sir. The 25 year rule is pretty hard to circumvent, and even then the car is still illegal and can be crushed.

I think this will go to a collector who has more money than sense. There are a few of these knocking about so the prices are kept within range of the average Joe. I quite fancy an ex-police Forus RS really if I was to get one.

Considering the 25 year rule and so on, I'd say it's probably one of the strictest.

I mean by inspections. anyone can drive a 50year old rust bucket on the street, as long as it was sold in the states. Some states you just have to go in to renew a sticker.

This is one of the few Fords I would actually drive willingly.
Let me take it off your hands. It would only be the second one I know about in the US.

Bu, bu, I want to take the radio plastic sticker first. Then its all yours.

Deal. I hate those damn stickers anyway. You can inspect the whole car for more than just stickers on the radio, and remove them. The thing deserves to see the world, not be locked up and covered all the time. It barely knows a fraction of the world around it.

It will certainly have time to learn. It will learn many about many things, and meet many people once it comes to me. A car like this should never be caged so much.

Driven my friend's RS a few times and the midrange torque is just unbelievable, even compared to my mapped Megane. Definite future classic!
